Hyper-V to be supported by open source cloud solution OpenNebula   Leave a comment

Ars Technica reports that Microsoft is teaming up with open source cloud platform OpenNebula:

OpenNebula, cloud software released under the Apache License, was already supported by VMware, Xen, and KVM, but not by Hyper-V. That will change in mid-October when a prototype of the Hyper-V and OpenNebula integration components will be released under the Apache license, says OpenNebula project director Ignacio Llorente.

It’s good to see Microsoft open up more and more to open source solutions and projects. A diverse ecosystem is a win-win for everyone involved.
