Back from my vacation   Leave a comment

Just a short mention that I’m back from a five week vacation which was the reason for the lack of updates here.

This week I’m just trying to get back into the swing of things but I’ll be back with a proper post next week.

TechEd Europe 2013   Leave a comment

bling_bethereI’ll be attending TechEd Europe 2013 in Madrid, starting tomorrow. I won’t be there for the first day, only from Tuesday to Friday (followed by a mini vacation in Madrid from Saturday to Monday).

Looking forward to a lot of interesting sessions, meeting with plenty of plenty talented people and hopefully get some new information about Windows Server 2012 R2.

Getting my hands on a Surface RT and a Surface Pro on the cheap is just the icing on the cake.

Trying to find my voice   Leave a comment

When I started this blog I was a bit unsure about where I wanted it to go and what I wanted to do with it, as can be seen by reading my very small archive of posts.

After a long hiatus I’ve decided to give it another try, this time focusing on how organisations should relate to the Microsoft Private Cloud (MSPC) when it comes to other parts than the Infrastructure Layer, where a majority of blogs already provide great information. I’ll instead be looking at the Service Delivery, Service Operations and Management Layers of MSPC.

I’ll also try and tackle other issues related to this side of the cloud. For instance, how an organisation should approach the cloud in order to make the most sense of it, what the immediate gains are, how to sell the cloud to both end user as well as technicians, and so on and so forth.

The brush strokes will be pretty wide and details relatively scarce, at least at first, but hopefully I’ll be able to get more specific as I progress. At the moment there aren’t a grand plan behind these posts but as I keep posting I hope we all can try and make some sense of them, together.

I was thinking about changing the name of the blog but in the end it doesn’t matter what the name of the blog is as long as there’s quality content on a regular basis.

So, with that said, let’s see if I can manage to keep on updating for a bit longer this time, shall we?

Busy, busy   Leave a comment

Quite a lot to do lately, although not always Hyper-V related, so not a lot of new posts.

Looks like I’ll scrap the “free” VDI solution based on Hyper-V Server and Linux as it requires so much overhead when it comes to maintenance that it’s not really worth it. Still on the fence about it though and will think it over before I decide what to do.

I have another couple of ideas in the pipeline though that I hope I’ll get the time to test out soon.

A short introduction   Leave a comment

So, why should there be another Hyper-V blog and more importantly, why should you read it? Isn’t there enough information about everything on the Internet as it is?

Of course there is.

This blog might be of no use at all to you or quite informative. Perhaps you’ll find it more amusing than useful.

Hyper-V is still a young technology though and if this blog can help one of you to understand it better or give it a try then I claim that the blog and all the work put into it is justified.

There is a lot of information on the Internet about (almost) everything but there is also a lot of noise. Perhaps this blog will need some Dolby B applied to it from time to time but my intention is to help you find the information you need in order to enjoy your Hyper-V environment.

How that will pan out I guess we’ll see in a while. For more about the blog, I recommend the About page.
