Getting ready for Build   Leave a comment

I won’t be going myself but there’s a ton of sources for information about Build so make sure your twitter clients and RSS readers are at their ready. 🙂

As for my own projects I have a few on the stove. One is a presentation on SCVMM 2012 and “Hyper-V 3.0” that I’ll be doing internally for my colleagues which is why I’m looking forward to Build even more than I normally would.

There’s another project I’m mucking about with that I’ll hopefully be posting about in a short while.

New document from Microsoft IT on SharePoint virtualization   Leave a comment

Microsoft IT has released a new document on how and why they internally virtualized SharePoint.

Microsoft IT piloted the deployment of a virtualized Microsoft SharePoint 2010 environment using the Compute Service, which provides high density compute servers and virtual machines (VMs) to the business. The SharePoint team saw the collaboration as a way to reduce operational costs and complexity, and the Compute Service team viewed it as an opportunity to significantly enhance its infrastructure capabilities. In addition to driving down costs, the partnership helped mature the Compute Service, because it allowed the team to identify and address a business gap by upgrading its physical infrastructure.

It’s not very in-depth nor technical but still worth a read. Grab it here.
